Achieving Justice with Judge Thomas A. Teodosio

Judge Thomas A. Teodosio is running for re-election as judge of the Ohio Ninth District Court of Appeals in the upcoming November election. He was elected to this court in 2016, which is based in Akron and includes Lorain, Medina, Summit and Wayne counties.

In this latest episode of Justice Jennifer Brunner’s “Achieving Justice” video series, Judge Teodosio discusses his trial court experience before he was elected to the court of appeals when he presided over the Summit County Felony Drug Court, called the Turning Point Program. He reflects on his love of public service and how his past public service and his background in private legal practice help him as an appellate judge. He has been married for 30 years to a fellow public servant, Summit County Juvenile Court Judge Linda Tucci Teodosio, and says he tries to spend every moment with his family and three granddaughters when he’s not on the bench or on the campaign trail.

Prior to Judge Teodosio’s judicial career, he spent 25 years in private practice law. In 2006, he was elected to the Summit County Court of Common Pleas, where he served until January 2017 when he assumed his current position as a judge of the Ninth District Court of Appeals. He currently serves on the Akron Bar Association’s Board of Trustees, the Akron Civic Theater Board of Directors, the Akron Zoo Board of Trustees, the Summit County Opiate Task Force, and the Summit County Fatherhood Initiative Steering Committee.

Justice Brunner initiated her video series, "Achieving Justice," in 2020 during her campaign for associate justice of the Ohio Supreme Court. The program educates individuals about Ohio's judicial system and the judges and candidates for judge who serve and wish to serve their state and community.

“Serving the people and the cause of justice is one of the most important callings in our democratic system,” Justice Brunner said. “I believe that the more information the public has about the courts, their judges, and judicial candidates, the stronger our system is.”

Justice Brunner is a candidate for Chief Justice of the Ohio Supreme Court in 2022.
